The Front-Resolving Ocean Network with Telemetry (FRONT) project is dedicated toward developing a coastal ocean observing system in the region of the Mid-Atlantic continental shelf outlined above. Although based at UConn, the project includes many partners. For this system, a wide range of data products are being collected for incorporation into a numerical model that can produce an estimate of the ocean state as well as examine the underlying dynamics of the flow.
